Advent Calendar Trivia 2026: 24 Doors of Questions
An advent calendar for your brain: every day in December you open a new door of questions, and the Christmas tree fills up bauble by bauble until the star on Christmas Eve.
Trivvy’s advent calendar is a free trivia quiz with a new door to open every day from December 1st to 24th. Each door holds a few questions, and the Christmas tree fills up bauble by bauble. You type your own answers, a small spelling slip still counts, and you can play with or without an account.

How the advent calendar trivia works
The calendar has 24 doors, one for each day from December 1 to 24, 2026. Every door is a small quiz of its own with new questions from all kinds of areas: geography, history, entertainment, art, science and sport, plus a little Christmas in every door. You do not need to know anything about Christmas to do well.
On weekdays a door holds five questions and takes just a couple of minutes, which makes it an easy habit alongside your morning coffee or before dinner. At weekends there are ten questions, because there is more time. Door 24 is the finale with ten questions that get harder as they go.
There is no clock chasing you. You type the answer yourself, and small typos and common alternative names are accepted. An AI judge settles the unclear cases. After each question you see the correct answer before you move on, so you learn something new even when you miss.
The Christmas tree that fills up
The overview is a Christmas tree. Doors 1 to 23 are baubles that get hung on the tree as you open them, and door 24 is the star on top. The tree shows at a glance which doors you have opened, which one is today's, and which are still locked.
Doors cannot be opened before their date: the server keeps track of the time, so changing the clock on your phone will not help. In return, you can catch up on doors you missed until January 6, 2027. The points still count, but the streak bonus is kept for those who open the doors on the right day.
Send the advent calendar to friends and family
An advent calendar is best shared. With "Send the advent calendar to friends" you share it in a group chat, in messages or on social media, and anyone who opens the link can start right away without installing anything.
If you and your friends have accounts on Trivvy and are friends there, you get a leaderboard of your own: who did best today, and who leads the whole of December. Only friends you have added see each other on the list; the calendar has no public leaderboard for strangers. You can also play without an account, but then you will not appear on the friends list until you have made a profile.
Want the whole family to play at once? Open today's door on your own phones and compare afterwards. If you would rather have one shared quiz around the table, you can create a room with the Christmas category, see the Christmas quiz.
A calendar for the whole of December
Opening one door a day suits a quiz well. The questions are written for an ordinary adult: easy enough that most people can join in, with a few harder ones at weekends and in the finale for those who want a bit of a challenge. Each door is made to be finished in one sitting.
The game runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. It is free, and you need no app. The calendar is part of Trivvy, so the knowledge level you build up in other games is also affected by your answers here.
Advent calendar trivia: frequently asked questions
When does it open? Door 1 opens on December 1, 2026, and a new door opens every day, up to and including door 24 on Christmas Eve. Does it cost anything? No, the calendar is free. Do I have to open the doors in order? No, but you only get the streak bonus by opening them every day on the right date.
What about a calendar for the whole family around the table? That is what the family game is for, where each player gets questions at their own level, so children and adults can play against each other.
