What the Halloween quiz is about

The Halloween quiz on Trivvy is a round of twenty questions about everything that belongs to the spookiest night of the year: classic movie monsters and the films they came from, famous horror villains, witches and black cats, pumpkins and jack-o'-lanterns, and the old Celtic and European traditions that Halloween grew out of.

It is meant to give you goosebumps, not nightmares. Most of the questions are ones you can answer if you have watched a few scary films or carved a pumpkin, and a handful are there for the horror fans who know their franchises by heart. Every round mixes twelve easy questions, six medium ones and two hard ones.

How it works

You type your answer instead of picking from four options, so you cannot guess your way through. Spelling is forgiving: a misspelled name or a slightly different version of the answer still counts, and the tricky cases are checked by an AI judge. After each question you see the right answer before you move on, so you learn something even when you miss.

There is no timer. Play it on the sofa, between trick-or-treaters, or as a warm-up before a Halloween party. It takes about five minutes.

Play it with friends

When you finish, you can share your score as a challenge – "I got 14/20, can you beat me?" – and your friends play the same kind of round on their own phones. If you would rather play at the same time, create a room on Trivvy and everyone joins with a four-letter code: perfect for a Halloween party where the guests compete live.

Free, and no account needed

Trivvy runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. You do not need to download an app or sign up to play. If you create a free account, your results and ratings are saved so you can track your progress.
